Crafted from mature head trained vines grown on rocky volcanic soils. This wine presents deep aromas of plum, raspberry, blackberry, along with green peppercorn, baking spice, leather, molasses, and rose pedal. The palate displays big fruit flavors such as plum, pomegranate, and raspberry. This is followed by a lush core of rhubarb, milk chocolate, spice, that finishes with plush, round and lingering tannins.
Sultry, joyful, exuberant energy.
Grown in San Luis Obispo County along California’s Central Coast, our grapes continue to create our world class wines. Proximity to the ocean, orientation of the numerous canyons, and varying elevations produce diverse microclimates, allowing production of both cool and warm weather loving wine-grape varieties.
Berries were hand harvested, hand sorted, and destemmed at the winery. After a 48-hour cold soak, whole berries were fermented using native yeast for 12-14 days. Caps were punched down by hand twice a day. After a delicate pressing, the wine was aged in neutral French barrels for 8 months to preserve the rich and elegant flavors.
